By decision of the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Giannis Kefalogiannis, the amount of 50,000 euros is allocated for the maintenance of dirt roads in Tinos island, after a request made by the Municipality of Tinos.
The works regarded 16.3 km long roads at Steni village, 1.8 km long roads at the Steni – Aghios Georghios itinerary, and 2.6 km long roads at the area of Vourna.
In parallel, the request for allocation of personnel and assets of the Armed Forces for road construction works, has been approved. The estimated time for the completion of the works is 24 work days.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Kefalogiannis stated:
“The Armed Forces have a deep social value and effectively prove it, whenever and wherever necessary. Responding to the request of the Municipality of Tinos, we fund the maintenance of the island’s dirt road
itineraries, and we contribute to the upgrade of infrastructure and the enhancement of the prosperity of the island’s inhabitants and visitors”.
