On Friday, 18 October 2024, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Giannis Kefalogiannis, attended the second day of the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence in Brussels.
In the presence of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), General Christopher G. Cavoli, and the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT), Admiral Pierre Vandier, the NATO Ministers of Defence discussed defence and deterrence matters.
On his way to the Meeting, the Deputy Minister of National Defence made the following statement (on camera):
“The developments in the Middle East create the conditions in order to see how we can use the Alliance to promote stability in the broader region.
The NATO Summit in Washington D.C. this year was an excellent opportunity to confirm and utilise the unity and resilience of the Alliance.
Greece is committed to promote a Defence industry based on the promotion of development, research, and technology.
We have already established the Hellenic Centre for Defence Innovation with which we will promote Innovation with state-of-the-art dual use technologies.
Our country remains a pillar of stability in the broader Southeastern Mediterranean region, a country that promotes peace and stability.
