At the same time, he pointed out that, from her sacrifice, we take lessons of virtue, courage, camaraderie, and kindness and we realise the meaning of duty and selfless love for the Country.

In his address, the Deputy Minister of National Defence stated among other things:

With great emotion, today we pay tribute to Major General (HAF) Evangelia Adreadaki, who lost her life on duty, in the accident of 17 September in Libya, that sad day, which will indelibly be printed on our memory.

Evi, as she was known in the family of the Air Force Medical Corps, had a great love and respect for the Medical Corps, the Air Force, for our Country. She was a multifaceted personality, with drive and culture of soul and spirit. She liked training, she was trained and trained the younger, and despite her young age, she built a very interesting and impressive biography, with studies, certifications, and diplomas that covered her dual role as Nurse and Officer. She was extrovert, sociable, and especially liked by her colleagues and full of optimism. She instilled security to her colleagues and completed any assigned task due to her hard work and training.

Of course, today’s ceremony makes us feel sad for her death, but despite the deep sorrow and the irreplaceable void, we recall all those virtues of hers that made her a bright human being. From her sacrifice, we take lessons of virtue, courage, camaraderie, and kindness and we realise the meaning of duty and the selfless love for the Country. She is a source of inspiration and a model for the Nursing Officers, due to the professionalism, consistency and generosity that she displayed to the suffering fellow people.

Dear Chrysoula and Lefteris and Kostas,

With deep empathy, allow me for the umpteenth time to express my sincere sympathies. This bust erected by our Air Force is a small tribute to the sacrifice of your beloved Evi, which will always remain alive in our minds and hearts. The Armed Forces, the Air Force, and I personally are always by your side.

May her memory be eternal”.
