After the end of the oath-taking ceremony, the Deputy Minister of National Defence
gave the following address:
“I represented the Prime Minister in the oath-taking ceremony of the new Officers of the Nursing Officers Academy, presenting the swords to them. I would like to congratulate them, from the bottom of my heart, for the successful completion of their studies and wish them a prosperous career.
For the Ministry of National Defence, the constant upgrade of Medical Services constitutes the highest priority. Last week we presented a Bill with a cohesive framework of reforms. Its intention is to counter the failings of the function of the Military Hospitals, to modernise the framework of hierarchical progression of the military medical personnel and to provide integrated healthcare to the members of the Armed Forces and their families.
Among other things, we establish the compensation for our nurses’ night shifts, while we move forward with the Foundation of a Training Centre and Unit for the Treatment of War Trauma.
We prove in deed that we heed their needs and I would like to assure them that we stand by them, so that they can fulfil, under the best possible conditions, the dual role of Officer and Nurse”.
