“Tonight, we had the opportunity to confirm the excellent level of professionalism of our own Special Forces, of the women and men, as well as of the Special Forces of the allied countries that were here in Greece and trained with us, for a cooperation which is mutually beneficial. A cooperation that aims at ensuring security, stability, prosperity of our nations and our peoples, in a complex, dangerous, and rapidly changing world.
As you know, a few hours ago I was with the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Choupis, and the Navy Chief, Vice Admiral Kataras, in the Gulf of Aden, to the south of the Red Sea, aboard the Greek Frigate HYDRA, which is operating there to protect the passage of ships.
The aim of all of us is to ensure peace and development conditions in our societies and also to make clear that any attempt of irredentism cannot gain ground in the 21 st century. I would like to state my pride for your high level, my thanks and warm congratulations.
I was very pleased with what I saw here tonight”.
